350+ blocks, people figurines, plastic animals, and vehicles provided through a generous Block Party Grant from the State Library of PA.

Each program begins with a story.

For ages 3-6.

Block Party

Saturday, August 12 at 10 AM – Conference Room (Downstairs)

Children ages 3-6 are invited to play with over 300 blocks, animals, people, and vehicles.

Block play builds STEAM, motor, and social skills.

Our program is made possible by a Block Party Grant from the State Library of Pennsylvania.


Play-K Circle Time

Tuesdays at 4:30 PM through August 15 – Children’s Room

Get ready to cruise into kindergarten with this special storytime for incoming preschool and kindergarten students (ages 4-5)!

Children practice following directions, turn taking, and other school skills while building vocabulary in a more structured setting than our regular storytimes.

We also have plenty of time to play with educational toys that relate to each week’s theme.

August 1: All Around Town

August 8: Let’s Go Shopping

August 15: Amazing Pets

Play-K Program

Get ready for kindergarten at Play-K!

 Play-K is a special 6 week storytime for children preparing to attend school (age 4.5-5.5).

Parents are permitted to observe, but unlike our other storytimes, Play-K is structured to model the types of teacher-student interactions that children will encounter in school.

 Each week, we’ll practice raising our hands, waiting to be called on, letters, numbers, weather, days of the week, and more!

After our 30 minute circle time, parents are encouraged to join their children in thematic creative play for the final 15 minutes.

In order to ensure that each child receives attention, each session has a limit of 10 children.

We’ll be offering two sessions to best accommodate our families:

Mondays at 2:30 PM – July 10 – August 14

Tuesdays at 4:30 PM – July 11 – August 15

Please RSVP for your preferred session by Thursday, July 6.

In the event that a session has fewer than 3 children “enrolled,” it will be canceled.
