Play-K Program

Get ready for kindergarten at Play-K!

Play-K is a special 6 week storytime for children preparing to attend school (age 4.5-5.5).

Parents are permitted to observe, but unlike our other storytimes, Play-K is structured to model the types of teacher-student interactions that children will encounter in school.

Each week, we’ll practice raising our hands, waiting to be called on, letters, numbers, weather, days of the week, and more!

After our 30 minute circle time, parents are encouraged to join their children in thematic creative play for the final 15 minutes.

In order to ensure that each child receives attention, each session has a limit of 10 children.

We’ll be offering two sessions to best accommodate our families:

Mondays at 2:30 PM – July 10 – August 14

Tuesdays at 4:30 PM – July 11 – August 15

Please RSVP for your preferred session by Thursday, July 6.

In the event that a session has fewer than 3 children “enrolled,” it will be canceled.

This program is made possible by a Cruise into Kindergarten Grant through the State Library of Pennsylvania.
